Has anyone tried to run OQ on a linux box using mono??? If so, how did it work out?

I saw a mention of this in another thread but havent seen anything else on the topic.

Regards,
Eric

I tried and failed. Didn't put to much time into it thought, so I never really understood why. Possibly it has to do with OQ using .NET 3.5, and Mono hasn't caught up with those specs yet.

If someone else would be interested in getting this to work, maybe we could work together to figure it out. Let me know :)

http://www.mono-project.com is an excellent project, I have had success running a few .NET apps reliably on a super stable linux box using it. OQ is still not one of them though, it unfortunately is using bleeding edge .NET 3.5, (still is not entirely stable IMO as a few bugs posted around here show). Checking the Mono roadmap it is more compatible with .NET 2.0 than 3.5.

Any news on this?

http://www.mono-project.com/Compatibility

Apparently mono now supports quite a lot of .NET stuff

Once we tried to run the core framework under Mono and it worked, but GUI and adapter part need some work to be ported and frankly speaking we don't have time (and practical interest) for this exercise. Though we have certain interst in a crossplatform c++ port.
