Now that Microsoft has released Visual Studio 2010 and version 4.0 of the .NET framework, I wanted to see if you have any plans to move to the newest version of .NET?

The new Visual Studio version allows you to still use .NET 3.5, and so seems to have no issues working with OpenQuant. I highly recommend it (IntelliTrace is awesome).

The newest version of the framework, though, doesn't work, which is a shame as there are lots of neat new features, from String.IsNullOrWhiteSpace and ConcurrentDictionary to better garbage collection and the Dynamic Language Runtime.

We already use .NET 4.0 and VS 2010 to develop other products and we enjoy new features you've mentioned, as well as new WPF things, so I don't see any issue with OpenQuant migration to 4.0

Anton

So it's been quite a while since this thread was updated. Is any sort of timeline available?

Hi,

we plan to switch to .NET within a couple of months.

.NET 3.5 works fine so far and many data and execution providers still test their APIs with .NET 3.5 ....

Regards,
Anton
