Hi,

All historical data for my instruments suddenly stopped showing up in OQ2014's GUI (see 1.jpg) and my backtest results now show there is no data present.
However, my data.quant file still says I have about 13 gigs of historical data (see 2.jpg).

The version of OQ2014 I'm using is shown in 3.jpg

Any idea what the issue is or what caused this?

thnks

Hi,

I uninstalled OQ2014 then deleted the "SmartQuant Ltd" folder (located in "AppData > Roaming> SmartQuant Ltd") then reinstalled OQ2014 and re-imported all my data.

It worked fine for a day or two, then the issue happened again just now.

Hi, could you place these data files on a google drive or any other place where we could download them for inspection?

Regards,
Anton

Hi, I've spent the past 4 days importing data and my database just crashed and disappeared again.

Why does this keep happening? I did not do anything out of the ordinary such as loose computer power in the middle of a critical I/O operation.

I'm aware your recovery tool can fix this (however I'm not sure how tested the recovery tool is and rather then beta test the recovery tool I just plan to re-import everything. I ran the recovery tool and a number of instruments and quotes were missing from the results it gave).

How can I ensure my database won't crash and disappear anymore? Its really becoming an issue.

That is why I created this backup script. Since I had the same issue with the data and recovery tool.

Thanks for the tip Mike.
My plan for now is just to back up the data.quant file and instruments.quant file onto an external hard drive after each time  I add more data to them. This way I'll have an original uncorrupted copy the next time they get corrupted on my local drive. I figure this the simplest solution for now.

SQ team. Are there are near term plans to fix this file corruption issue?

Thanks everyone.

Hello,
try use tool from OpenQuant2014 folder - FileManager.WPF.exe
It can repair broken datafiles.
